This DIY requires just a few simple items, only a few minutes, and only $3. This is really pretty too! It gives off a really pretty glow, while not creating a blaring light.

Materials

  • A Small Glass Vase or Jar
  • Glass Floral Beads
  • A Solar Light (the stake variety)

Step 1: Gathering Your Materials

This is such a super cheap, quick, and pretty project. All you need to do is gather your materials. I bought a cute small glass vase, a bag of floral beads, and a solar light stake. It only cost me $3 at my local Dollar Tree. I got one of the bags of glass beads that had both blue and clear blue beads. If you can’t find a bag with both, you can buy one of each. The only Solar Light Stakes I could find were the 4th of July ones at my local store, but any of them will do.

Step 2: Prepping Your Solar Light

This step is super easy. All you need to do is twist off the solar light off the top of the stake, and you’re done!

Step 3: Assembling Your Light

Assembling your light is fun, and pretty. Take your glass container, and fill the bottom with beads. I separated mine into clear and blue ones, and put clear beads in the very bottom, but if you like them mixed you can leave them that way.

Next, with the solar sensor side up, push the light into the beads. You need the sensor to be able to catch the light, so don’t bury it too deep. You want it partially uncovered.

And Voila! You have a very pretty DIY Solar Light!
