Everyone has old jeans and jean shorts and most people just throw them out when they are ripped. Well here are some crafts where you can use the good sections for other projects and throw out the bad parts. There are some really creative ideas that are useful for any home so get crafting!

Denim Coasters

Use the hems and trim sections of a pair of jeans to make these cool coasters. Save your tables from moisture with this unique looking coaster set. What a way to upcycle your old jeans and you can just hot glue these together.

Denim Rug

Get those old jeans you’re just going to throw away and make this cool denim rug. This denim rug will fray eventually and depending on the foot traffic is how long until it starts to fray. You will need to know how to sew and this is not a short time project.

Recycled Denim Wreath

Make a cool wreath for your door with your worn out jeans. The denim wreath is based on a wrapped straw wreath or you could use the hard Styrofoam wreaths for the base. Just wrap and glue the denim onto the wreath and decorate as desired. A teen may love this idea for their room.

Denim Organizer

Sewing skills are required for designing this denim organizer. From old jeans or shorts to a new organizer, this is a great way to recycle denim. After about 2 to 4 hours of measuring cutting and sewing you will have this organizer which is great for the home office or dorm room.

Denim Journal

Get some paper and use the denim to make this cool personal journal. If you have a piece of denim with the pocket, you can use this on the front to make a handy pen and pencil holder. You can go green with this crafty idea. Perfect to keep by the phone to take messages as well!
